Let me follow up yesterday's infuriating post with something positive.
Whiteknot.org is garnering support for marriage equality by spreading these little white bits of ribbon tied in a knot. I know, I know, little bits of ribbon have been done to death, what with AIDS and breast cancer and whatever that purple one was for. But at least they're doing something.
"It takes two traditional symbols of marriage—white and tying the knot—and combines them in a simple way to show support for the right of gays and lesbians to marry. All loving couples deserve the same legal rights, benefits, and respect that civil marriage bestows."
And thank god it's not another ridiculously tacky rubber bracelet.
