Via my friend John:
Here's one that's been creeping around the interwebs for the last few days. A video was posted on YouTube recently that shows members of Manifested Glory Ministries, a Connecticut church performing an exorcism on a 16-year-old boy. The "daemon" they're trying to cast out of the boy? Homosexuality.
But a church official this week denied that the teenager was injured or that the church is prejudiced.
'We believe a man should be with a woman and a woman should be with a man,' the Reverend Patricia McKinney said.
'We have nothing against homosexuals. I just don't agree with their lifestyle.'
McKinney also claimed the boy was 18. Do you think she would have lied if she didn't know that what she was doing was wrong? The video was taken down but you can still find copies of it out there:
LGBT and youth advocacy groups have decried the abuses of the church, but McKinney is doing the usual "We're just poor persecuted Christians" thing. Also from the Daily Mail:
McKinney also has a weekly radio programme. She talked on Wednesday's programme about being 'persecuted' in recent days but did not mention the video specifically.
'It's been a hard time for me, but I'm looking good and I'm standing strong because when you have a mandate like mine you're not going to say what you want without the adversary coming after you,' she said.
'If you are a true prophet you're not going to be popular with the people.'
I know I don't have to tell you how heinous this child abuse is. These people should be in jail.
